Antonio Ciraci

The solo show, already presented six months ago in Rome, and is now transferred to Toronto, Canada in November.

Forty-five small and meduim format paintings on display, all very recent, oil on canvas prepared with plaster, a technique that gives vibrant materiality and a particular strength to the image. Antonio Ciraci also practices the art of removing layers of color, to the point of bringing the white background to light in some places to create significant luminescence.

Art historian Francesco Abbate writes:

“These observations came to mind while retracing what I know about Antonio Ciraci's artistic career and the analysis of his work by the relevant bibliography, or more precisely the path of his "material". It seems to me, however, that there are some elements that seem to run parallel, but in reality are intertwined, and that one predominates over everything: Antonio Ciraci being first and foremost a painter; it is this element that ultimately imposes itself on others, even if it is and has been conditioned by them".
